c. Provide identification

There are certain prescriptions for medicines that will not be issued by doctors in any circumstances, which include: controlled medication, such as strong painkillers, anxiolytics, sedatives and hypnotics and medication that requires specialist prescribing and monitoring; and medication that needs to be administered by injection (other than those listed on our website).

Ensure that no-one other than yourself has access to any prescriptions for medicines that we issue you.
i. Expiry date
Ensure that any prescriptions for medicines prescribed in advance of need are not used beyond their expiry date.
j. Notify side-effects
Inform Lloyds Online Doctor via your online patient record if you experience any side-effects from any medicine we prescribe to you or if you think that any medicine we have prescribed to you has not been effective.
6. Placing an order, contract formation and cancellation
When you take up a service that involves the prescribing of medicines, our clinicians must carry out a clinical assessment of your suitability for the medicine before any prescription can be issued.
When you place a request:
- you ask us to start your clinical assessment immediately; and
- we will send you a confirmation email to the email address you supplied. This email confirms that we have received your request but does not mean that we have accepted it.
A binding contract for a clinical service is formed when we:
- start your clinical assessment; or
- prescribe your medicine,
whichever occurs first.
Our Services are healthcare services provided by registered doctors. Once we have completed your clinical assessment, you will not have a statutory right to cancel that clinical service.
This does not affect any right you may have to a refund where:
- we decide that it is not clinically appropriate to prescribe the medicine; or
- you have paid in advance for a medicine that we do not ultimately supply.
If we decide not to provide the clinical service or not to prescribe, we will cancel your order and refund any payment you have made for that order.
Professional codes of conduct and legal restrictions may limit the number and frequency of any item we are permitted to prescribe to you. We have no obligation to prescribe quantities that exceed the relevant permitted maximum. We also reserve the right to reject any order where we consider it clinically inappropriate or where we cannot safely provide the service.
7. Clinical assessments for Wegovy® and Mounjaro®
When we provide a Clinical Assessment to you for the prescription of Wegovy® or Mounjaro®, the following additional conditions apply:
- A condition of issuing a first prescription to you is that you submit to us a video demonstrating your BMI, in accordance with the instructions that we provide to you. This is to ensure that the treatment is clinically appropriate and in line with current guidance.
- You will be required to resubmit your BMI video every 12 months while receiving this treatment.
- We take payment for the Wegovy® or Mounjaro® prescription before the video is submitted.
If you do not submit your BMI video to us within 6 months of your Clinical Assessment, your prescription will expire or be cancelled and you will be entitled to a refund of the amount you paid for that prescription.
If your BMI video demonstrates that you are not eligible for Wegovy® or Mounjaro® under our clinical criteria, we will issue you a full refund of the amount you paid for that prescription.
8. Authorisation of orders for medicines
Our clinicians can only decide whether it is in your best interests to receive a medicine when they have all relevant information. This may require them to ask you for additional information, beyond what you provided in response to an online questionnaire.
If you do not provide the additional information requested, we may not be able to complete your clinical assessment or prescribe the medicine. In that case, we will explain the position to you and confirm whether a refund is due.
9. Collecting medicines/goods from a participating 'In-Pharmacy Collection' store
When collecting your prescription from a Pharmacy store, before doing so you need to check your online patient record to ensure a doctor has approved your request. You may also need to telephone the pharmacy to check they have the medicine in stock if you wish to purchase your medication there. In both cases, please be aware that if there are availability issues at your nominated pharmacy, it may not be possible to pick up your approved prescription/medications on the same day as you ordered them. We are not responsible for delays caused by stock availability at your chosen pharmacy.
